Patios and lanais

An open paver patio gives you full sun and open sky. A lanai gives you shade, screens, and a floor that meets the house cleanly at the door. We build both, and many projects combine them, with a lanai floor stepping down to an open patio.

Materials run from brick and natural stone to the full concrete paver catalogs, including flagstone-look, travertine-look and large-format slabs. Pattern matters as much as product on a patio, and the right choice depends on the size of the space. It is a short conversation at the showroom and worth having before anything is ordered.

Lanai floors

Pavers over your existing lanai slab, matched to the pool deck coping, with clean transitions at every door. We work under truss and in screened spaces.

Patio design

Size, shape, borders, seat walls and lighting conduit are all decided on paper before anything is dug.

Stone patios

True natural stone, including flagstone, travertine and marble. We will explain the upkeep before you choose it.

Designing a patio you'll actually use

The patios that get used daily share three decisions made early. Size: furniture plus walking room, measured with the actual table you own, not a guess – most regrets are patios one size too small. Connection: a patio that flows off the lanai in the same or a complementary paver reads as part of the house and gets used like one more room. Border: a contrasting soldier course frames the space and hides the cuts, which is why nearly every patio in our gallery has one.

Bring your furniture measurements and a couple of photos to the showroom and we’ll sketch the layout with you before anyone quotes anything.

Common questions

Patio questions

If your question is not here, call us and we will answer it.

What’s the difference between a patio and a lanai?

A lanai is covered, usually under roof or screen, and attached to the house. A patio is open air. Lanai floors demand tighter tolerances where they meet doors and pool decks.

What does a paver patio cost?

Cost per square foot depends on the selection of material, pattern, and scope of work. Features like seat walls or borders add to the scope. Small patios cost more per foot than large ones because mobilization is the same either way. A free on-site estimate gets you a written number.

How big should a patio be?

Size it to the furniture, not the yard. A dining set needs roughly a 12 by 12 foot zone and a lounge set about the same. Bring your furniture list to the showroom and we will sketch it with you.

Can you match my existing pavers?

If the line is still made, yes. If it is discontinued, a contrasting border or band usually looks better than a near-miss match. We can show you examples of both.
